![]() This is where the perks of paddles or buttons come in. Basically you can either input a look command OR input a button command, but not both. If you get peeked during that time you now have to lose the time returning your thumb to the stick to retrack. Now, you have to take your thumb off the aiming stick to use a face button input. You can't compensate with the horizontal strafe anymore and you need to slide or jump to continue your aim tracking. The reason you want remappable paddles or buttons are many, but the core aspect is that your thumb never needs to leave the right thumbstick, imagine being in a 1v1 firefight with someone and they break your vertical line of fire. Some play on things like the Xbox elite controller but they are quite a hefty weight and thus not favored above scuff. Most competitive players play on scuff controllers or evil controllers. Sure there are people who play at a high level on stock controllers but they are very few. I play on an evil controller with 4 remappable tactile buttons on the back. You are handicapping your performance by not having rear buttons or paddles. I know everyone on here will give you a different opinion on this but here is mine. The mods will help you but then you’re just a cheating bastard and hopefully get caught by spectators. While people act like they get that for the paddles, they’re really just wanting the mods that come with it. In saying that, I saw Strike Pack recommended. It mostly just feels better and more comfortable so now I jump and slide more than I used to. You still have to be able to keep on target while you’re doing all these things. I jump shot and slide a lot so this helps me more, but if you’re someone who has little maneuvering in your gameplay already, then they’ll likely just mess you up or be somewhat worthless to you. The biggest benefit here is being able to keep your right thumb on the aim stick while you’re mid fight and trying to maneuver. I have 4 paddles and ouse the larger two under the handles for jump shots and sliding/squatting. I have an Elite Series 2 controller and the paddles do make a split second difference in a lot of gameplay, but they’re not going to make a bad player good. If the title is not descriptive the post will be deleted. Instead of writing "Nice hiding spot" name the post "Hiding spot at location X on top of the boxes" for example.
